Years of experience

Places we'd ALWAYS go back

Palm Springs, CA

I was born in Brazil, where I spent my time eating guava, starfruit, tamarind direct from the tree and I used to swim with alligators. After living in D.C., London and Florianópolis, I moved to Sao Paulo, where I met Marcelo and graduated in Tourism and finished my post grad in Photography.

After six years working as a Photo Editor, I decided to follow my dreams and be a photographer. I started shooting for travel magazines, then families and, finally weddings. I attended workshops in France, Los Angeles, Recife, New York, Vancouver and Sao Paulo and I was Speaker at conferences in most of these cities, too. I have probably over a hundred photos published in a variety of magazines and blogs around the world.

That being said, I’m also a Scapegoat Survivor on the healing journey of Severe Complex PTSD and an advocate on this cause being open and honest using vulnerability to heal and help others that survived similar types of abuses. Also, I’m a Full-Blown Empath, which means I am very sensitive and an emotional sponge who absorb both the stress and joy of the world. I have an extremely reactive neurological system and feel everything. Most things can be overwhelming for me, but I can also capture all the good vibes of someone and fill my heart with joy. Judith Orloff wrote a great book for empaths and I love this quote “People who are sensitive in life may suffer much more than those who are insensitive. But, if they understand and go beyond their suffering, they will discover extraordinary things.” – Jiddu Krishnamurti.

"You have special eyes", once said Amy Arbus.

Wedding photography a different approach

I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a kid, I travelled the world! From Egypt to Switzerland, from Jamaica to Israel, I still love to travel with my own family! Before I fell in love with photography, I had a career in the corporate world as I owned a Brazilian Travel Agency for 14 years, it grew from 6 to over 100 employees through the years. Then, Madalena and I started shooting weddings together, as she needed an extra pair of eyes to help her out with her photography business, we then decided to follow our dream and move to Canada. I studied Business and Marketing.

I enjoy talking about technology and co-housing lifestyle, you can easily find me walking Bacon at Olympic Village, driving a Modo car share around Vancouver and riding a Mobi bike share at the Seawall with Bacon in a backpack. Also, I often like to share ideas about sustainable solutions for housing and the planet.

I am a person with strong empath tendencies and I am quite intuitive. What I enjoy the most is working with people, it makes me stronger and more open to new ways of thinking.

Aside from photography, I’m a member of the Board of Directors of my co-op, I’m part of the monthly Co-op Cafe meetings, mostly vegan in the past couple of years and I volunteer at least once a week in my community (from shared meals to hosting socials).

Fun facts

We've met in a night club in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2005 and traveled to more than 20 countries together.

There is this fascination about weddings, we got married TWICE and we keep thinking about a third one.
